HIGHLIGHTS OF 2013 Mazda CX-5


Replaces the Mazda Tribute and CX-7 SUV Hybrid with a new compact crossover, the CX-5. The CX-5 has two rows of seats for five passengers. The big seven-passenger CX-9 is in the range.

Mazda offers the CX-5 in three trim levels: base Sport, the volume of tourism, and high-end Grand Touring. Power windows, central locking, starter button and air conditioning are among the standard features on all CX-5. Touring add fog lamps, a center 5.8-inch color screen, rearview camera, blind spot warning, Bluetooth connections for wireless phone, and various interior trim enhancements.

Grand Touring extras include heated leather seats, in 19-inch wheels and tires, sunroof, automatic headlamps with power, dual-zone automatic climate control and a nine-speaker stereo.

Available options include a Bluetooth wireless connection for mobile Sport models, and a sunroof and upgraded stereo package for tourism. Touring and Grand Touring are available with a set of technologies. The contents of the package technology varies between the two models, but both include a Tom-Tom navigation and bi-xenon headlights.

Engines
Each level Mazda CX-5 is available with front wheel drive layout and four-wheel drive. Any use 2.0-liter Mazda "SKYACTIV-G" 4-cylinder. It is good for 155 horsepower. Some models of front wheel drive sport come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic transmission is optional and it is standard on all other CX-5 variants.

Fuel Economy
The EPA rates the front-wheel drive CX-5 to 26 mpg city/35 mpg highway with the manual transmission 6-speed and 26 city/32 highway with automatic transmission. All-wheel drive versions are rated at 25 city/31 highway.

Safety Feature
All CX-5 models come standard with security features federally mandated, and otherwise. Touring and Grand Touring adds the blind spot warning and a rearview camera.
